La fotografia analogica dialoga con l'Intelligenza artificiale.

Due modi di intendere l'immagine e la creatività, agli antipodi. Artigianalità versus virtualità.

Il Meccanico spazio di ricerca sui linguaggi contemporanei a Verona ospiterà due progetti: uno realizzato in camera oscura e l'altro con l'Intelligenza Artificiale.

Il tema del concept è Rottura, ed i progetti partecipanti dovranno essere in relazione con questo topic.

Si potrà partecipare per l'analogico o per l'IA.

Per rottura intendiamo la rottura dal sistema, ma anche una rottura nella storia, personale o collettiva. Un punto di non ritorno. Una frattura nell'esperienza quotidiana, una cicatrice che di quella rottura è riparazione e ripartenza.

I due progetti, costruiti sul medesimo concept ma con linguaggi diversi, dialogheranno negli spazi del Meccanico.


CRITERI DI PARTECIPAZIONE

Il progetto può essere prodotto da un singolo da un collettivo. Il lavoro non deve essere necessariamente inedito. Anche un video può andare bene.
Il lavoro deve includere:

  • un numero di immagini da 10 ad un massimo di 20

  • le immagini devono essere in formato JPEG (lato lungo 1200 pixel) e peso massimo della cartella 10MB

  • la presentazione, titolo compreso, non più lunga di 4000 battute

  • una bio breve

Il progetto andrà spedito a grenze.arsenali.fotografici@gmail.com in una cartella nominata con nome e cognome e deve includere la ricevuta di pagamento PayPal di 20 euro (grenze.arsenali.fotografici@gmail.com)

I progetti saranno esposti dal 1 al 25 maggio 2024 presso Il Meccanico - Verona.

La giuria e la direzione artistica disegneranno il layout condividendolo con l'artista

analogue – artificial


Analog photography dialogues with Artifical Intelligence. Two ways of understanding the image, at the antipodes. Craftsmanship versus virtual artificiality. The Meccanico, a multidisciplinary space in Verona, will host two projects: one made in the darkroom and one with artificial intelligence.


The theme of the concept is Break and your submission should be related to this theme. The submission can be for analog photography or for Artifical Intelligence.

Artists may approach the theme of Break from different perspectives, offering a rich and diverse terrain for exploration and creative expression. Break as a rupture in the system, a break in the History, a fracture in everyday life to re-start with a scar.

Break can be interpreted in many different ways, depending on the artist’s individual perspective and artistic practice: Analog or IA.

The exibition will show two project based on the same concept, two project made by different artist but in The Meccanico in mutual dialogue.


PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

The project can be produced by a single photographer or a collective. The work doesn’t have to be necessarily unpublished, and it may be presented in whichever size and material. Video projects will be accepted as well.

By the time it is sent, the work must include:

  • At least 10 up to a maximum of 20 pictures. These ones must be in a JPEG file format (the long edge needs to measure 1200 pixel) and count a capacity of 10MB overall;

  • The title together with the intro must count 4000 characters at the latest;

  • A short biography.

Each request needs to be sent via email to grenze.arsenali.fotografici@gmail.com in a folder named "namesurname" and it must include the proof of payment PayPal (grenze.arsenali.fotografici@gmail.com) equal to €20.

TIMELINE

January the 30th, 2024: latest date to send the project;

February 25th, 2024: the selected projects will be announced.

The projects will be exhibited from 1 to 25 May.

The jury and the artistic direction will design the layout which will be later shared with the artist.
